1/ Being an activist means taking action for a cause. Taking action on an individual scale is important, but talking about it and becoming a source of inspiration is all the more impactful for helping to change the system. These challenges invite you to be a force of proposition, to challenge economic and political leaders, and to spread your ideas for a fairer, greener world.

2/ On April 22, 1970, the first Earth Day (Earth Day) brought together 20 million Americans, about 10% of the national population at that time.

In 2019, thousands of young people from more than 100 countries went on strike to call for urgent action against climate change as part of the Greta Thunberg-inspired Fridays For Future movement.

3/ Being a force of proposal and influence is a way of exercising your rights as a citizen. In a democracy, sovereignty emanates from the people. Communicating concerns and ideas with solutions also, and above all, enables elected representatives to become aware of society's concerns, so that they can better respond to them by taking appropriate measures.

4/ Preserving living conditions on our planet is everyone's business! The more people we sensitize, the more likely they will be to take action, and the more this will be relayed in the media and to economic and political decision-makers. This will have a significant impact on the system as a whole. It's a butterfly effect that can continue into the mythical category!

Important: we must not underestimate the power of industrial lobbies and the neoliberal/capitalist machine, which often benefit financially - at least in the short term - from ecological inaction. We therefore need to create a new and real balance of power. Throughout history, what are commonly referred to as social achievements (paid vacations, women's right to vote, equality between the sexes and races) have in reality been more social “conquests” thanks to a section of the population that has mobilized. Finally, in the ecological context, there is sometimes a difference between what is legal and what is legitimate (because the rights of the living are still very little considered). Civil disobedience can be justified in certain contexts, and in fact helps move the Hoverton window, making initiatives like Ma Petite Planète more acceptable. At MPP, we always advocate dialogue and non-violence.
